Junior Teachers
Aidan Crosbie
My name is Aidan Crosbie and I am a junior teacher at music of the heart. I have been playing violin for over ten years and have reached level 10 in the Suzuki repertoire. As part of the Suzuki journey I feel both fortunate and privileged have played at the Sydney Opera House for the last 8 years consecutively but unfortunately this year because of covid it was called off. I have attended many workshops during my time as a violinist and have had the amazing opportunity to even tutor students at Suzuki workshops. I am proud of all of my students, seeing how much potential they all have and watching them grow not only by doing violin but also growing as respectful and wonderful young children/adults. While graduating the 2020 component of the teacher trainer course I have had an amazing time learning the necessary teaching skills and sharing resources with my wonderful co-students, Gemma, Rhianna, Jason and Alima. I am also very appreciative of the guidance and support I have received from my teacher trainer Mrs Albert and my personal teacher Mrs Campbell. It would be a privilege to be able to teach your child and I look forward to spending time with them learning and growing together.
Gemma Lyons
Gemma Lyons is currently on book 9 violin and has been playing for 9 years. She has been a guest teacher in the music of the heart annual workshop, as well as attending many of the Suzuki workshops in Sydney. She is in year 10 at Gosford selective school. She has been teaching since 2018 and has completed the 2019 component of the student teacher training course.
Alima Sokiri
Alima Sokiri is a Junior Teacher at Music Of The Heart who is currently in Year Twelve at Avondale School. She began studying violin at the age of five for a total of 12 years. She is currently studying Suzuki Level 12 repertoire, Alima has attended many Suzuki String Workshops that occur annually. She has also graduated at the Sydney Opera House for violin seven times. Alima has also had experience in a variety of music groups. She has played with Avondale School Orchestras for musicals and music tours for 5 years. She has also played with The Institute of Worship Orchestra and Avondale Memorial Orchestra. Alima has also been a part of the Avondale Senior Strings for 7 years.
Rhianna Lyons
Rhianna Lyons is a year 12 student at Gosford High school. She is a Suzuki viola student and has fully graduated all the viola levels, and has completed the 2019 component of the student teacher training course and has been teaching since 2018. Rhianna has performed solo at the Sydney Opera House. She has been a guest tutor at the music of the heart workshops and has attended multiple spring and summer school workshops in Sydney. Rhianna has performed at multiple Suzuki graduation concerts. She is a member of the IOW orchestra and has been performing with them for 4 years
Jason Lyons
My name is Jason Lyons and I am currently working on cello level 7 Suzuki graduation.
I have played cello for 8 years and attended multiple workshops in Sydney. I am Currently in year 8 at Avondale school. I have been a Junior teacher since 2018 and have completed the 2019 component of my training.
